At Connexions we work with young job seekers up to the age
of 19. Our Personal Advisers work in local schools and Access
points and assist young people find employment. Our database
of work seekers includes young people with a wide range of
skills, abilities and qualification levels.
We offer employers a free vacancy service. This includes;
- Assisting you draw up a suitable job specification and
advising on wages and availability of suitable applicants
- Promoting your vacancy to all job seekers through mail
outs, our website www.4you2.org.uk
and in local Connexions Access Points Countywide
- Providing you with up to date information regarding local
training provision and funding for employing young people
- Advising on current legislation concerning young workers
such as equal opportunities, minimum wage, time off for
study etc
- Provide updates and information on recent changes to education
and qualifications
- Providing opportunities to develop links with local schools
and colleges, making the skills and resources of your industry
available to support the curriculum.
Filling your vacancy
The Central Vacancy Unit will be happy to assist you with
any queries. We can:
- Discuss the details of your vacancy and assist you in
drawing up a job description
- Advise on pay, training and availability of suitable
young people
- Agree selection procedures and can offer you the use
of our:
standard application
form
- Match your vacancy and notify suitable young people
- Advertise your vacancy in our Access points and on our
website for young people: www.jobs4you2.org.uk
- Submit interested candidates to you
- Contact you at regular intervals to see how your vacancy
is progressing
In return we would expect you to provide us with the details
of any young person you recruit and will be happy to assist
you in arranging training etc.
