Vacancy Service celebrates reaching 2000

Connexions Central Vacancy Unit (CVU) are celebrating this month after filling their 2000th vacancy. The Central Vacancy Unit manages a FREE vacancy service for all Northamptonshire’s employers, helping them to recruit and train young people that are leaving school up to the age of 20.

The unit was set up 5 years ago to help local employers understand the benefits of recruiting young trainees, funding and training available and provide them with access to a large pool of potential employees.

The ‘Vacancy Service’ has proved popular with many employers in the county. As Connexions is a support service for young people, one of its main aims is to help young people into quality work and training. Both employers and many young people who have been given the opportunity to prove their potential have seen benefits of using the service.

“We have worked with nearly 1000 employers this year alone and it is a great achievement that we have successfully helped 2000 young people into work’” said Kerry Senatore, CVU Manager.

“We are expecting over 1000 more school leavers to start looking at work based learning options before the summer and are already marketing vacancies on behalf of employers keen to attract eager and enthusiastic young people!”

If you have a vacancy or possible opening for a school leaver then contact Connexions CVU on 01604 614939 or e-mail CVU@connexions-northamptonshire.org.uk.
