 A Level Results Day

Results day – Advanced level 16th August 2007

The waiting is finally over for thousands of students across Northamptonshire as they receive their exams results for Advanced level courses, which will be published tomorrow - Thursday 16th August. GCSE results will be published a week later on Thursday 23rd August.

For many this is an exciting time but for those young people whose exam results are not as expected, or are unsure what they want to do, it can be quite daunting. There are loads of options to consider including Further Education, vocational training, Higher Education, getting a job – perhaps with an Apprenticeship or taking a year out.

Kala Chauhan, a Connexions Personal Adviser said:

“To help make sense of information overload talk to staff at Connexions who can offer information, advice and guidance to put you back on track. Also seek advice from your parents/carers and teachers at this important time in your life. ”

Connexions Personal Advisers will be available at Northamptonshire Connexions Access Points and at education establishments on results day. You can telephone Connexions Access Points in Northamptonshire free on 0800 73 13 2 19.

Connexions are also working with the exam results national helpline, which will be open over the exam results period. Advisers will be on hand to offer clear, impartial and confidential advice to school and college-leavers nationwide on 0808 100 8000. Advisers will be able to give up-to-the-minute information on course availability.

Young people looking for job vacancies can visit their local Connexions or look at vacancies online at www.4you2.org.uk and click on jobs4you2.

Deciding what to do isn’t always easy, but it is worth remembering not to rush into any decision. Make sure you talk though the options open to you with your family, teachers and a Connexions Personal Adviser or phone the exams helpline on 0808 100 8000.
