How Connexions Northamptonshire works with libraries in schools, colleges and special institutions

Connexions Northamptonshire is keen to support schools, colleges and other institutions in the provision of Connexions information for young people. This is a responsibility of the Access Team.

In 2007/8 institutions have been allocated funding through the Connexions Library Initiative (CLI). Funding can be claimed provided the institution has met the key essential standards as set out in the annual audit document. Your Personal Adviser, working with the Careers Co-ordinator or librarian should carry out audits.

Connexions Northamptonshire uses Prospects as a distributor of resources to handle all orders, and is able to pass on a discount on orders placed within the specified time frame. For 2007/8 there is no requirement for schools and colleges to match fund their CLI allocation.
Connexions Northamptonshire also hosts a Resources Day when Prospects and other organisations display a range of products which can be helpful when selecting products to order with CLI funding. This year it was held on 3rd May at King’s Park Conference Centre in Northampton.

If you wish to discuss any aspect of the CLI process, please contact Jane Shearer in the IAGS Team on 01933 231205 or email on jshearer@connexions-northamptonshire.org.uk
