Section 139a Assessments in Northamptonshire
In their final year at school, young people’s goals
and support needs are assessed. This is so that young people
with learning difficulties or disabilities get the right support
to help them move on to further education, training or employment.
A ‘Section 139a Assessment Report’ is written
by the young person’s Connexions Personal Adviser. They
write this with the help of the young person, parent, school
and other agencies.
The report is shared with the new college or training provider.
It helps them plan the right learning and support programme
for the young person.
